Activities

  • Presentations of own PhD topic, results so far and the overall status (each participant, 30-45 minutes incl. discussion)
  • Participation in PhD defences occurring during the academic year
  • Other topics (suggest one) and/or presentations from visitors

To Pass

  1. Basic requirements
    • Active participation (at least 12 times).
    • Two seminar presentations.
    • Participation in doctoral dissertations. To follow and report (see the instruction below) at least 3 dissertations.
  2. Modified requirements (incl. miniseminar with less credits)
    • Some of the required activities replaced with doing and reporting (together with a presentation) a SLR/SMS related to the topic of own PhD dissertation
    • Reflective report on the own PhD process together with presentations (which can be given by videoconferencing)

On reporting

  1. Contents on "Taking part in Dissertations" report
    • PhD candidate, Opponent, Name of the dissertation
    • Place and the whole duration of the defence
    • Lectio Precursoria: duration, main contents, style and clarity of the presentation
    • Questioning and discussion: Main themes, main findings on a) theoretical background, b) methods, c) results, d) conclusions, main disagreements, main improvements
